Product Description
Dry-Type Transformer
Sanding dry-type transformers are environmentally friendly,safe,flame-retardant power distribution equipment designed to meet applicable ANSI and IEEE standards.Using a vacuum-cast resin insulation system, these transformers contain no insulating oil and are designed for North American low-and medium-voltage distribution systems rated up to 12.47 kV.They are widely used for indoor power distribution in commercial buildings, industrial facilities, data centers, healthcare facilities, and other locations with stringent fire-safety requirements, helping eliminate the leakage, flammability, and fire risks associated with oil-immersed transformers.
Unlike conventional oil-immersed transformers,dry-type transformers use natural air cooling and, when required,forced-air cooling. They offer flame-retardant,oil-free,low-maintenance operation with no risk of insulating-oil leakage.Sanding combines high-purity copper-foil windings with a high-performance epoxy resin insulation system to provide low partial discharge, strong lightning-impulse withstand capability, and reliable resistance to moisture and contamination. The transformers are well suited for indoor power distribution applications where safety, reliability, and long-term stable operation are critical.
Core Advantages
Oil-Free,Flame-Retardant Design&Enhanced Safety
The oil-free design eliminates the leakage and oil-related fire hazards associated with conventional oil-immersed transformers.High-flame-retardancy epoxy resin insulation provides excellent fire performance and can self-extinguish when the ignition source is removed. This design supports demanding indoor fire-safety requirements and is well suited for densely occupied buildings and other applications where fire safety is a priority.
North American Standards Compatibility&Low Partial Discharge
Designed and manufactured to applicable ANSI C57.12 and IEEE requirements, the transformer supports common North American distribution voltage classes up to 12.47 kV.An optimized vacuum-casting and winding process helps minimize partial discharge, improve insulation reliability, and support stable operation in indoor distribution systems.
Environmentally Friendly&Low Maintenance
With no insulating oil,the transformer eliminates oil leakage and the need for oil replacement or oil-related sealing maintenance. The cast-resin insulation system helps protect the windings from dust and moisture and provides strong resistance to corrosion and aging. These features reduce routine maintenance requirements and support reliable long-term operation.
Low Noise&Strong Environmental Adaptability
Optimized core vibration control and winding-casting processes help reduce resonance and operating noise. The insulation system provides strong resistance to moisture, mold, and salt-laden environments, allowing reliable operation in humid, dusty, and other challenging indoor conditions when properly specified for the installation environment.

Precautions for Use&Maintenance
Operation Precautions
Dry-type transformers should be operated within their rated voltage and load limits.Prolonged overload operation should be avoided to prevent excessive temperature rise and accelerated insulation aging. Before energization, verify that the wiring, insulation resistance, and grounding system meet the applicable design and installation requirements.During operation, monitor winding temperature and abnormal operating noise.Where forced-air cooling is provided, operate the cooling fans as required under higher-load conditions. If an overtemperature alarm, abnormal vibration,or other unusual condition occurs,de-energize the transformer and arrange for inspection by qualified personnel.
Environmental Requirements
The transformer is primarily intended for indoor installation in a well-ventilated,dry,and reasonably clean environment.Avoid prolonged operation in environments with excessive humidity, corrosive gases,or heavy conductive dust unless the transformer is specifically designed and protected for those conditions.Such environments can increase the risk of surface tracking and partial discharge. For semi-outdoor installations, provide an enclosure and appropriate protection against rain, sunlight, and dust as required by the installation conditions.
Daily Maintenance
Periodically remove dust and debris from winding surfaces and ventilation passages to maintain proper airflow and heat dissipation.Check high-and low-voltage terminals for secure connections to help prevent overheating or poor contact caused by vibration or thermal cycling.Inspect and test the temperature-control system and cooling fans at recommended intervals to confirm proper operation.Perform periodic insulation tests in accordance with the manufacturer’s maintenance recommendations and site operating practices.
Safety Inspection&Fault Handling
All inspection and maintenance work must be performed with the transformer de-energized,isolated,and properly grounded in accordance with applicable safety procedures.Live work should not be performed unless specifically permitted under an approved electrical-safety program.Do not modify or disassemble the enclosure, windings,or insulation system without authorization from qualified personnel or the manufacturer. If an overtemperature trip, abnormal noise,or protective-device operation occurs,de-energize the transformer and have qualified technicians inspect and correct the condition before returning it to service.Periodic inspection and functional testing should be performed to maintain safe, reliable operation and continued compliance with applicable requirements.
